SSHRA Race Card - The SSHRA will choose a race card from the following approved race distances and halter classes. Race levels and age requirements will be decided on a race-by-race basis. 220 Yards 250 Yards 300 Yards 330 Yards 350 Yards 400 Yards 440 Yards 550 Yards 660 Yards (around turn) 660 Yards (straightaway) 770 Yards 870 Yards Race Producer, Mare (must have 1 foal started on the track) Race Producer, Stallion (must have 2 foals started on the track) Race Prospect, Weanling Race Prospect, Yearling
Racing Rules - No over racing of horses is allowed - Follow all entry formats and race rules
Racing Levels - Maiden - Allowance - Grade III - Grade II - Grade I
Race/Halter Points - Maiden 1st – 2 2nd – 1 3rd – 1 4th and below - .5
- Allowance 1st – 3 2nd – 2 3rd – 2 4th and below – 1
- Grade III 1st – 4 2nd – 3 3rd – 3 4th and below – 1
- Grade II 1st – 5 2nd – 4 3rd – 4 4th and below – 1
- Grade I 1st – 6 2nd – 5 3rd – 5 4th and below – 2
- Halter Classes 1st – 3 2nd – 2 3rd – 2 4th – 1 5th and below - .5
Holding an SSHRA Approved Race - Only registered members may hold races - E-mail or post your name, e-mail, and date you wish to hold the race - You must choose your race card from the list of approved SSHRA race distances and halter classes, but classes may be deleted to make a smaller race meet.
